Scope and Contents This collection consists of copied and transcribed correspondence written and received by various Civil War soldiers. Thomas M. Coleman and Martin T. Clayburgh both served in the 6th Regiment of the Missouri Veterans Volunteer Infantry. Their letters chronicle soldier’s lives during the Civil War—politics, courage, religion, and reflect home news, encouragement, pride, and family life.
