Framed Photographs of Nien Cheng Receiving U.S. Citizenship
Scope and Contents
This series includes a diverse array of photographic material spanning 1987 to 2003. Included are photographic prints, framed photographs, professional portraits, negatives, and scrapbooks. Among these are snapshots chronicling Madame Nien Cheng’s professional career following the release of her memoir, Life and Death in Shanghai. Highlights include photographs from lecture circuits, publicity images alongside President Ronald Reagan, and other miscellaneous professional portraits.
Also featured in this series are scrapbooks containing photographs and memorabilia from Cheng’s travels. Together, these materials offer researchers a visual narrative of Cheng’s life during her post-publication years.
