From the Collection:

This collection, consisting of various land deeds, tax receipts, and other legal documentation, illustrates the expansion of Slippery Rock University’s property between 1888 and the mid-1990s. Including an original agreement for Slippery Rock State Normal School in 1888, a collection of land transaction records for 249 Maltby Avenue (present day Robert A. Biographical / Historical

Originally built in 1966, the Riviera Hall was a privately-owned housing facility belonging to SRU Foundation Board member Stanley Kraus. The building offered Slippery Rock students alternative residency options while staying close to campus. In 1984, Kraus officially donated the building to Slippery Rock University. It was officially renamed Kraus Hall in his honor. Kraus Hall housed Slippery Rock students until 2009. The building was officially demolished in 2018.
