The Michael Changnon Collection contains material that documents Michael Changnon’s career as an artist and Slippery Rock University art professor. The collection includes papers, records, and correspondence regarding Changnon's teaching and academic career, exhibitions, and other personal materials. The collection also contains photographs depicting his artwork and activities during his tenure. Information regarding his exhibits and artwork can be found throughout the publications. Additional items include memorabilia, textiles, and a DVD of the Michael Changnon Tribute Exhibit in 2005.

Materials Specific Details

Between 1968 and 1970, Michael Changnon was provided a stipend from Slippery Rock State College’s Art Department to buy art, photographs, and portfolios from notable photographers. This was to be used in instruction. Changnon wrote to many photographers and organizations for contributions including the Museum of Modern Art, The Witkin Gallery, and the management team for Minor White.
