Biographical / Historical

This rock is one of the many left outside the Smith Student center during the Spring and Summer of 2021.

The first rock was left by SRU senior Johnny Phommachanh who subsequently left one "pet rock" outside the Smith Center everyday for 40 days and posted videos of leaving the rocks on TikTok.

Other students also began to leave "pet rocks" outside the Smith Center.

In Fall of 2021 the well weathered rocks were removed from outside the Smith Center, and one rock was saved and donated to the archives by the Student Affairs office.
