Biographical / Historical
In May of 1978, SRU first awarded approval for a Document of Academic Achievement in Women’s Studies to be given to any student who completed a minimum of 12 hours in Women’s Studies. But, in October of 1983, SRU finally awarded approval for the Minor in Women’s Studies to be given to any student completing a minimum of 15 hours in Women’s Studies courses. Today, SRU proudly offers both a minor in Gender Studies as well as a major in Gender and Diversity Studies.
