Content Description

The Hamilton Records are primarily office files created, or in some cases inherited and maintained by Ms. Del Hamilton. Additional materials include library publications and a collection of videos which came from Media Services.

Biographical / Historical

Del Hamilton was born Delphine Oehms in Biloxi, Mississippi January 17, 1962. Hamilton was hired in 1990 as IMC (Instructional Materials Center) librarian, a position filled by Jane Scott Cleary from 1978-1990. Hamilton later replaced David Hickey as systems librarian. Ms. Hamilton served as library department chair from 1993-2005 (she began when Lou Como retired) and held this position during the interim between the directorships of Ms. Farah and Mr. Tramdack. Her office files include some from Cleary, Hickey, Farah, and Harold Helmrich. Helmrich was the chief librarian from 1965 to1977.

Separated Materials

Blueprints, oversized materials were separated. Audiovisual material were moved to 30-5 and 31-3-1.

Collective Bargaining Agreement between APSCUF and SSHE (1974-1993), originally located in Series 1, box 1, folder 8, was removed to RG 11 APSCUF.

Separated Materials

Items removed to RG 24-P-3 include: Japanese Collection, complied by Roger B. Lamson (1974), Japanese Collection, Roger Lamson (1975 rev.), Japanese Collection Supplement, compiled by Harold E. Helmrich and Roger B. Lamson (1974-1976), and Annual Report of the Director of Library Services (1974-1975).

Processing Information

Duplicate items were weeded to 1-3 copies. Photocopied and discarded original fax that was deteriorating. Wood samples in Helmrich's Furniture (New Library) foldered separately. Blueprints unfolded and housed separately.
