Biographical / Historical
The Robert A. Macoskey Center (RAMC) was originally called Harmony Homestead and was under the aegis of the ALTER Project (Alternative Living Technologies and Energy Research). The ALTER Project was conceived by the late Dr. Robert A. Macoskey (1930-1990), SRU professor of philosophy, as a means to educate students and the public about ways through which they could improve environmental conditions and make changes to their lifestyles. The collection documents projects and proposals about the founding of the center in 1990 and its continued projects and service to the community through 2011.
