This collection consists of materials documenting the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on students, faculty, and staff at Slippery Rock University after the year 2020. Material types include “Rock the Shot” banners as well as 2020 commencement mailers.

This collection, dated 1984, includes papers, memorandums, and Slippery Rock University News releases regarding the Economic Development Planning of Lawrence County; a joint effort of Slippery Rock University and county leaders to develop a long-range plan for the economic development of Lawrence County. Also included is a Progress Report on Economic Development from the Institute of Social Science Research, dated November of 1984.

This collection includes papers and publications relating to the history of the Mercer County, Pennsylvania area. Included is a Mercer County brochure, written history of coal mining in the Mercer County area, a Mercer County Historical Society newsletter (December 1998), Mercer County History, spring 1971, and The Travel Diary of Dr. James Magoffin Jr: from Ireland to Mercer, PA in 1821.

This collection includes a short biography of Slippery Rock State Normal School Trustee, Origen Kerr Bingham, as well as other copied photographs and a copied composition notebook from Bingham’s wife, Edith Poellot.

These papers include a resolution, dated in 1912, by the Board of Trustees on the death of Judge John Morgan Greer, member of the Pennsylvania Senate from 1877 to 1884. Greer, a native of Butler County, Pennsylvania, was also a founder and trustee of Slippery Rock State Normal School in 1889.

This speech titled, Rights, Privileges, Duties and Responsibilities of the Trustee for the State System of Higher Education, was delivered by Wayne M. Richardson, Chief Legal Counsel of the State System of Higher Education, at the Fall 1983 Conference to the Pennsylvania Association of Councils of Trustees.
