Scope Note: Here are entered works on the broad area of music in the theater, including opera, musical comedy, pantomime, revues, etc., and works about more than one such type. Works on musical productions, often small in scale and primarily of the 20th century, that combine elements of music, drama, and sometimes dance in unconventional ways that result in works distinct from traditional forms are entered under Music theater. Works on music for theatrical productions consisting of musical numbers integrated into a dramatic framework are entered under Musicals. Works on music for theatrical productions from around the end of the 18th century that feature a series of songs, dances, and other entertainments without any unifying dramatic element are entered under Revues.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of materials collected and created by Blase Scarnati from his start teaching at Slippery Rock State College in 1964 to his retiring from leading the Muscian's Concert Band in 2005.Item types include large scrapbooks from each year Scarnati conducted the marching band which were put together each year by his wife Mary Scarnati. A large portion of the collection is records and recordings of the Musician's Concert Band from it's inception in 1986 until 2005....
