It also includes the donor’s scrapbook, personal papers, correspondence, memorabilia, news clippings, sports programs, university publications, digitized images, and photographs related to his role as the Rocky mascot.

Biographical / Historical

Bob Jones, a 1983 Slippery Rock State College (SRSC) graduate, designed the original Rocky the Rock mascot and portrayed it as a student and as an alumnus at Slippery Rock University events. Rocky made its debut in 1978, when Bob Jones was a freshman at SRSC. The idea for the mascot was inspired by Bob’s parents Dick and Frances Jones, and his mother constructed the costume.
